A friend told me about how relieved he was to have received some help in his moment of need. He was feeling so elated that he related the story with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I told him that he can repay the debt by doing a good deed for another person who is in need. If that person want to repay you, tell him/her the same thing. Imagine how many times will the good deed multiply over.
The strength of a bamboo lies in its hollow center. The bones also have a similar structure. This is the strength of humility. A good deed performed without the expectation of a reward is like a bamboo growing upright. This is the virtue of humility reflected in a bamboo.
I think I will put this into active practice.
