Red Seal Green Puer

This tea is about 60 to 70 years. Its was harvested as green leaves quickly steamed and pressed into flat cakes. Packed with bamboo paper into seven pieces, and covered with bamboo husks it is allowed to ferment for about 10 to 20 years before it is sold. The pressing and tight packing allows the tea to ferment slowly and takes on a fragrance as the tea oxidises.

When I bought this tea it was already very expensive. I shared it with two tea friends. We liked it so much that we bought another piece together. I still remember the day when we brewed the leftovers from the dividing and savoured the first brew in my office. It was heavenly. We were inebriated to dizzying immortal heights.
